EVENT CONCEPT:
Unlike Athena, who sprang fully formed from the head of Zeus, most artisans and scientists learn lessons as they go. It is no different for those in the Society. What was the "standard" when we began has grown progressively more
advanced as more information has become available through the Internet and Inter-Library Loans. More scholars have published research to which we have
access. Sometimes, an artisan will still choose to do something a "modern" way or a "theatrical" way (in the case of costume). Have we, as the general SCA
participant, learned to spot the short cuts? Do we know the reasons?
With the aid of the A&S award holders, Dragonsspine will host a display of some of their earlier projects and we invite you to share in a scavenger hunt of sorts to see what lessons have been learned as the artisans have progressed.
ACTIVITIES:
Brown Bag Lunch (included in site fee)
-- Ham Salad or Egg Salad sandwich
--PBJ option for kids
--Cheese tartlet
--Seasonal fruit and veggies
--Cookie (provided by THL Bronwen of Hindscroft!)
Scavenger Hunt
-- Strictly for fun, you will receive a sheet to record the things that are "different" from current best research.
(For example: That seam should be higher/lower or that X century helm has Y century features. It will all depend
on what gets displayed.)
Court Bingo
-- 50 cents per card or $5 to pick your "lucky" card.
(All proceeds go to Barony.)
Pay attention in court and as His or Her Excellency speaks, watch your card. The first 4 people to claim a bingo will receive a bottle of Lord Conal of Stony Ford's homebrew.
Peer Roundtables
-- Since there wasn't an opportunity to hold these during our winter event, they will be available at this event. Please contact Master Thorsinn if you would like to help with these.
