When Geocities closed, I switched from a family site to an expanded persona site. Here you will find out more about Constanza Marina de Huelva and her activities in the Society for Creative Anachronism.
I've had a love affair with Christopher Columbus since I had to take a Foreign Cultures class in the 7th grade at Pierson Jr. High. I continued on to take Spanish classes through high school and college, culminating in a B.A. of Spanish from the University of Arkansas. Though I've never had much practice speaking Spanish, I can read it fairly well. When a friend introduced me to the SCA in 1994, I was told to become the "person I'd always wanted to be."
Persona Background:
Constanza is the youngest child of a shipbuilder in the town of Huelva in the kingdom of Castile. She was born the year that Ferdinand and Isabella were married (1469) and died around the time their grandson, Carlos, ascended to power in the Holy Roman Empire (1519). Her brothers are all learning the business from their father. Her love of the sea, instead of sewing and other womanly arts, earned her the derogatory name "La Marina de Huelva". Both her name and device are registed with the SCA College of Heralds. Constanza currently resides in the Shire-march of the Grimfells in the Kingdom of Calontir.
I love to discuss the SCA and all things Spanish with fellow enthusiasts and recreationists.
